Anxiety Therapy in Smithtown, NY

By Happy Pro, Counseling Team · May 30, 2026 · 2 min read

Anxiety is the most common mental health concern in adults, and most of what comes through our door looks ordinary. Tight chest at the kitchen counter, four wakeups a night, short temper with the people you love most. Treatable, almost every time.

Smithtown covers more ground than people outside the area realize: the Hauppauge office park to the south, the village strip on Main Street, St James and Stony Brook to the east, Nesconset, and Kings Park. The Smithtown school district is one of the larger and higher-rated public systems in Suffolk County, which shows up in our work as parents trying to hold standards for kids who are quietly burning out, dual-career households where both adults run hot, and retirees who finally have time to notice what has been wearing them down for years.

How anxiety therapy works here

Most outpatient anxiety therapy is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure work, or acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). All three are evidence-based, and most people see meaningful change inside eight to sixteen sessions. Our Clinical Director is also EMDR-trained, which is useful for panic and phobia work with an identifiable trigger.

What it costs

Most Smithtown households use commercial PPO plans through Long Island or NYC employers, the Smithtown school district, or the hospital. We are in network with the major plans and verify benefits in writing before your first session. With most in-network plans (Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Oxford, Northwell Direct), the typical out of pocket cost is between $0 and $40 per session, depending on your specific plan. Coverage may vary; we check your specific benefits in writing before your first session at no cost. Send your insurance information here.

If we are not in network with your plan, you may still have out of network benefits that reimburse a portion. The payment options page walks through the Mentaya tool to check that quickly. Self-pay rates are listed there too.
