Anxiety is the most common mental health concern in adults, and the version that ends up in our office most often is not the dramatic kind. It is steady, low-grade, hard-to-sleep, picking-fights-over-small-things kind. Treatable, every time.
Riverhead is the county seat of Suffolk: more diverse than most of the East End, with a strong working-class and immigrant population, the county courts and government services, and a long stretch along the Peconic River. How anxiety therapy works here
Most outpatient anxiety therapy is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure work, or acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). All three are evidence-based and most people see meaningful change inside eight to sixteen sessions. Our Clinical Director is also EMDR-trained, which is useful for panic and phobia work with an identifiable trigger.
What it costs
Practically: Riverhead residents use a wider range of insurance plans, including some that are less common further east. We are in network with most major commercial plans and verify your specific plan in writing before the first session. With most in-network plans (Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Oxford, Northwell Direct), the typical out-of-pocket cost is between $0 and $40 per session, depending on your specific plan.
