Depression Therapy in Patchogue, NY

By Happy Pro, Counseling Team · May 30, 2026 · 2 min read

Depression rarely shows up the way it does in textbooks. Most of what we see in Patchogue is the quieter form: you are still going to work, still showing up for your family, but nothing lands the way it used to and the energy never quite refills. Treatable, almost every time.

Patchogue Village runs through the South Country and Patchogue-Medford school districts and through generations of families on the same blocks. The downtown revival pulled new restaurants and the Patchogue Theatre forward, but for a lot of the families we see, the daily reality is still long shifts, kids in three different schools, and not enough hours. Depression in Patchogue often looks like getting through the week and then losing the weekend.

How depression therapy works here

The most studied outpatient depression therapies are cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral activation, and interpersonal therapy (IPT). All three are evidence-based, and most people start feeling traction inside eight to twelve sessions. Our Clinical Director is also EMDR-trained, which can be useful when depression has roots in a specific loss or earlier experience.

What it costs

Most Patchogue families use commercial Long Island employer plans, school district coverage, or trades union plans. We are in network with the major plans and verify your specific benefits in writing before your first session. With most in-network plans (Aetna, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare, Oxford, Northwell Direct), the typical out of pocket cost is between $0 and $40 per session, depending on your specific plan. Coverage may vary; we check your specific benefits in writing before your first session at no cost. Send your insurance information here.

If we are not in network with your plan, you may still have out of network benefits that reimburse a portion. The payment options page walks through the Mentaya tool to check that quickly. Self-pay rates are listed there too.

Same-week openings, most weeks

We hold intake capacity so most weeks we can get you in within days, not months. Sessions are in person at our Long Island office or by secure video anywhere in New York State.

Frequently asked.

Do I need to be on medication to start therapy?
No. Many people work through depression with therapy alone. If medication looks helpful at some point, we coordinate with your prescriber or refer to one we trust.
How long does depression therapy usually take?
Most people feel meaningful traction inside eight to twelve sessions. The total length depends on the picture, and we revisit it together.
