ADHD therapy that focuses on what actually works in your real day
ADHD therapy isn’t about insight alone — it’s about practical skills that translate to your real day. Time management that survives a chaotic morning. Executive function strategies that hold up at work. Emotional regulation tools you can actually use mid-overwhelm.
We work with adults, teens, and kids on ADHD-related challenges. Same-week intake for new patients. Call (631) 371-2718.
Adult ADHD — what we work on
- Executive function strategies — planning, prioritizing, getting started, finishing
- Time management — reducing time blindness, building external structure
- Emotional regulation — handling rejection sensitivity, managing frustration, recovery after setbacks
- Procrastination patterns — understanding why specific tasks feel impossible, building work-arounds
- Self-image and identity — undoing years of “I’m lazy / I can’t / I’m bad at adulting” self-talk
- Relationship patterns — managing how ADHD affects partners, friends, family
- Career fit — figuring out what kinds of work environments support you
Adult ADHD therapy approach
Most adult ADHD therapy combines:
Skills coaching — concrete strategies for time, task, and energy management. Often the most immediately useful piece.
CBT — adapted for ADHD: addressing the thought patterns that interfere with task initiation, managing rejection sensitive dysphoria, building accurate self-assessment.
Acceptance + values work — letting go of the “neurotypical ideal” and building a life that fits your actual brain.
Coordination with medication — when medication is part of treatment, we coordinate with your prescriber. Many adults find therapy + medication + coaching together more effective than any alone.
ADHD in kids and teens — what we work on
- School performance — homework battles, missing assignments, organization
- Behavioral concerns — impulsivity, emotional outbursts, transitions
- Social struggles — friendship difficulties, missed social cues, emotional intensity
- Self-image — undoing the message that they’re “the difficult one”
- Family dynamics — coaching parents on what works (and what doesn’t)
- School coordination — IEP/504 evaluations, communicating with teachers
We also coordinate with school staff (with parent permission) on accommodations and intervention plans.
Do we do ADHD diagnostic testing?
Not directly. ADHD diagnosis can be made by primary care, psychiatrists, psychiatric NPs, or psychologists. If you don’t yet have a diagnosis and would like one, we can refer you to trusted assessment partners on Long Island.
What we do: therapy for the symptoms — diagnosed or not. Many adults arrive with strong suspicion of ADHD but no formal evaluation. We can work on symptoms while you pursue diagnosis if you choose to.

Telehealth + in-person
Both work for ADHD therapy. Telehealth often suits adults with ADHD particularly well — eliminates the executive function load of “getting to the appointment.” Some kids do better in person where structure and physical presence support engagement.
